Purex Insiders- Purex UltraPacks plus Oxi

I recently received Purex Plus Oxi UltraPacks, these handy little laundry pods are great for HE machines and top loaders alike, I personally have an HE and knowing just how much detergent for each load can be a pain. These are single load, easy to use concentrated laundry pods that you can just toss and go! I have personally never used a detergent capsule before getting these to try so I am still on the fence, I have a load in the wash right now, which is a big test load. I accidentally washed new navy blue sheets with a white pillowcase--ack! I am hoping that my now baby-blue pillowcase will wash clean, it hasn't been dried yet, at least I caught it so hopefully the stain is not set in.

Since this pillowcase is now one big stain, I am hoping that these cute little laundry pods pack a punch! Unfortunately though when I went to switch loads out and put the load in the dryer, the pillowcase is still blue! Oh well, lesson learned! But--everything is clean as can be and I didn't have to mix anything at all. Smells wonderful and super fresh, and I popped one of my Purex Sweet Lavender Fabric Softener sheets this load is all set! Now I just need a laundry folding machine!

So, I learned a tough lesson here: make sure there are no hidden whites in your dark loads, and also to make laundry time so much easier, use a pre-measured Purex UltraPack plus Oxi. I wish everything were as easy as doing laundry these days!

Purex Insiders Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar & Stain Remover

I received my second box from Purex Insiders! This time I get to review Purex Fels-Naptha Laundry stain remover bar! I got super excited when I opened the box, because I knew just the thing I was going to test it on, and when I mean test, it is like the exam of all exams: stained cloth diaper. I think I was mostly surprised by the delivery system of the stain remover itself, it comes in a bar form. You wet the clothing/stained item and rub the bar on and let it set for a minute or so, then wash as usual. I have never used a bar type laundry soap before so I was really unsure about it. But, after using it I found that this method is great because you can directly target and treat the exact area you want to vs. a messy spray that can miss the spot you want completely.

Okay everyone, I chose my 3 most stained cloth diapers, note that the holes are normal wear and tear for the old style BumGenius Elementals, I still love and use them anyway until they start leaking or chafing my little one. The light blue one was the absolute worst and I for sure thought those stains would be permanent, this is the diaper I chose to use the Fels-Naptha bar on. In the top photos you can see how nasty and awful they look. I ran a prewash rinse cycle in my HE front loading washing machine, then I used the Purex Fels-Naptha Laundry bar on the stains and let it sit for a couple minutes. Then I hand washed the diapers in the sink, with a little soft scrubbing brush and a lot of agitation. After thoroughly rinsing in the sink, I put the diapers through a regular wash cycle with my regular diaper routine (using slightly less detergent than I would for a full load about 1 1/2 tsp) and also a couple extra rinse cycles to make sure everything was out of them. Cloth diapers can easily get build up or ammonia smell buildup if you do not rinse enough, so it is imperative to rinse rinse rinse!

As you can see the results in the lower photos, I am so impressed at how much actually came out of these horribly stained diapers! The Purex Fels-Naptha stain remover bar would be excellent as a stain prewash treatment, or even an in wash additive to help keep all your clothes looking like new! And also unlike other stain removers, this comes in a bar and you only use what you want and need to, so the bar will last forever it seems. I have also heard of people adding shaved bits of Fels-Naptha to their home-made laundry detergent for added effectiveness. 

This will definitely become a laundry staple in my house!

Sweet Lavender Purex fabric softener sheets

I have been eagerly awaiting my first package from Purex Insiders, and guess what? It finally arrived! I have had the great opportunity to use/test out some wonderfully "scent"sational Purex Sweet Lavender Fabric Softener Sheets! I must say even before the box was opened, bringing it in from the mail-man--I could smell the goodness radiating from the box. Apparently my son could too because after opening the box he immediately asked if he could have a sheet and he enjoyed smelling it just as much as I did!

I used it first on my towels and all I have to say is wow! The scent of the Purex fabric Softener dryer sheet is so great and fragrant, I just love it. Lavender of course is one of my favorite scents, and they really hit it on the mark with these fabric softener sheets. I was also really surprised by the reduced static cling that they provided. Usually when I pull towels and clothes out of the dryer they are all jumbled together and your hair stands on end, and you get that weird noise when you pull stuff apart--not with the Purex fabric softener sheets, my hair stayed in place! 

I also used it on a load of regular clothing items, and the freshness lasted forever it seemed. I usually don't get around to folding laundry right away (I find every excuse not to even do it) and still several days later after hauling the laundry basket up from the basement and starting to fold them, they smelled clean and fresh and still like lavender!

There are several other things I have heard of using dryer sheets for, some are:

• Repelling pet hair
• Repelling lint
• Refreshing dresser drawers
• Stuff them in stinky tennis shoes
• Place under a pet bed for added odor control
• Keep some in your car, as an air freshener and to keep stuff smelling fresh on the go
• Throw a few in your diaper bag to keep it smelling nice

A couple of those listed above would have been great only if I had known about them sooner! I cloth diaper my youngest son and often when we are out and about end up with a dirty diaper hanging around in the car (in a wet bag of course) or in the diaper bag, and boy I sure could have used some Sweet Lavender scented diaper bag! I was also unaware of the repelling pet hair, and with three cats currently in the house this is an added bonus! You can even use used fabric softener sheets for various items around the house, the biggest one that comes to mind is dusting. A multi-useful tool for getting laundry and cleaning done, genius!

I must say that Purex fabric softener sheets are sure a hit in my house! What could you do with something this great and "scent"sational?
